RALEIGH, N.C.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--SplendidCRM Software, Inc., a pioneering provider of Microsoft-centric Customer Relationship Management (CRM) solutions, has adopted the GNU Affero General Public License Version 3 (AGPLv3) for its Community Edition.
"We are pleased to join the crowd of free and open source (FOSS) applications", said Paul Rony, President and Founder of SplendidCRM Software. This release includes the full set of SQL source code in the Community Edition, something that was previously only available in the Professional and Enterprise Editions. An article on the subject of Commercial Open-Source licensing has been posted at http://www.codeproject.com/KB/architecture/splendid-guide-article6.aspx.
"Version 5.0 also marks a milestone as we have removed all SugarCRM copyright information from the application", said Mr. Rony. "By removing references to SugarCRM, we are making the statement that we intend to be an open-source leader and not just a follower." In addition to being available from the SplendidCRM web site, the SplendidCRM 5.0 Community Edition will be available on CodePlex and the Microsoft Windows Web App Gallery.
