WHITE PLAINS, N.Y.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Atlas Capital Management, LLC announced today the launch of its Hedge Fund Advisory Board and the appointment of the initial Advisory Board members. In this new role, board members will provide investment views to Atlas’ global and emerging markets hedge funds and strategic direction to the firm.

Luiz Augusto de O. Candiota is a Founder and Partner of Grupo Lacan, an asset management and corporate finance advisory company established in 2001. From 2003 to 2004, he served as Deputy Governor for Monetary Policy of the Central Bank of Brazil. He is a former member of the National Monetary Counsel and Credit and Currency Commission and was previously the coordinator of the Capital Markets Group under the Ministry of Finance. He also was the Chief Financial Officer of Grupo Vicunha, one of the largest textile groups in the world, was an Executive Director at Citibank NA and a corporate finance Senior Manager at Unibanco S.A. He graduated in Economics from Católica do Rio de Janeiro (PUC-RJ), and holds a FMP (Financial Management Program) at Harvard Business School.
Ken deRegt is a Senior Advisor and Managing Director of Aetos Capital, providing oversight in areas of investment strategy, overall operations and risk management. He is on the Board of Directors of MSCI Inc., a public company comprised of MSCI Indices, Barra Risk Models and Portfolio Analytics. Prior to joining Aetos Capital in 2003, he headed the fixed income, currencies and commodities businesses for Morgan Stanley and was a member of the firm’s management committee. During his 20-year career at Morgan Stanley, he had a variety of responsibilities relating to different fixed income businesses, including the firm’s government securities business and certain international businesses. He is a graduate of Stanford University and a member of the advisory board of the university’s Institute for International Policy Research. He currently is the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Eagle Hill School and is also a member of the Board of Trustees of The Partnership for After School Education.
Peter Drittel is a portfolio manager at Diamondback Capital Management, a global macro and emerging markets fund. From 1998 to 2006, he was a Partner of Tudor Investment Corporation and a member of the management committee. He was a Founder and Chief Investment Officer of the Tudor Emerging Markets Fund. Before joining Tudor, he joined Kingdon Capital Management Corporation where he was a portfolio manager. From 1984 to 1995, he was a Senior Managing Director and co-head of emerging markets at Bear Stearns. He also served as a member of the board of directors for Bears Stearns Companies. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Public Policy from Tulane University, a master’s degree in Latin American studies and international economics from The Johns Hopkins University and received his MBA in international finance from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.
Gail D. Fosler is Executive Vice President and Chief Economist of The Conference Board, the world's leading research and business membership organization. Ms. Fosler directs The Conference Board's highly-regarded Economics Research Program and leads The Conference Board organization outside the United States. Dr. Jim Walker is a Managing Director at Asianomics Inc., an economic research firm based in Hong Kong. Formerly, he was CLSA’s Chief Economist based in Hong Kong. He joined CLSA in late 1991. Prior to coming to Asia, he worked in his native Scotland as a research fellow at the Fraser of Allander Institute for Research on the Scottish Economy and then at The Royal Bank of Scotland’s Edinburgh headquarters. In the latter post, he was responsible for the bank’s coverage of the oil industry and the U.S. economy. He holds a Bachelor of Arts Honours degree and a Doctorate in economics from the University of Strathclyde, Glasgow. In the November 2004 Asiamoney stockbrokers poll, for the eleventh year in a row, he was voted best regional economist.
