BOSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Onduo today announced the appointment of Erich S. Huang MD, PhD, to the position of Chief Science and Innovation Officer. Dr. Huang joins Onduo from Duke where he served as the Chief Data Officer for Quality in Duke Health, Director of Duke Forge, Director of Duke Crucible, and Assistant Dean for Biomedical Informatics for Duke University School of Medicine. Dr. Huang will lead Onduo’s evidence generation efforts, spanning across clinical research, data collection from novel digital health devices, and real-world evidence. He will help accelerate the evolution of our Advanced Real-time Cohort engine and learning health system development to deliver a population health solution that provides truly personalized care for each individual.
“We were searching for a leader who has the prowess of a data scientist with experience in the systematic evaluation of the value of interventions - both existing and new,” said Dr. Vindell Washington, CEO of Onduo. “Erich has an impressive track record of creating a data science culture and infrastructure for biomedical research and interventions. We’re thrilled to have Erich on board to continue expanding and evolving the Onduo evidence generation platform.”
“Healthcare needs to change for both patients and providers,” said Dr. Huang. “Onduo has been generating the clinical evidence needed to effect change and drive adoption of digital health at scale. I’ll be pulling together all forms of data collection in order to accelerate the company’s product development focused on personalized care.”
The cornerstone of Onduo’s differentiated capabilities is the ability to assign individualized pathways for each member. With support from our parent company Verily, Onduo has built an advanced predictive modeling engine that uses the science of “digital phenotyping” to match the right care to the right member at the right time for better health and lasting change. The Onduo Advanced Real-time Cohort (ARC) engine securely and rapidly evaluates multi-sourced data streams such as medical and pharmacy claims, paired device data, and medication data, available through contracted relationships and member-level user agreements to build unique profiles for individuals or their digital phenotype, and tailor their care experience.
