ALTONA, Manitoba--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Friesens Corporation presented handmade quilts to Rick Steves and Avalon Press Publisher, Bill Newlin, expressing the book manufacturer’s gratitude to the world famous traveler and publisher that have printed over 3 million travel books with Friesens.

Made by artists Sharon Schmidt and Gail Sawatzky, these unique quilts are hand appliquéd and machine quilted, utilizing many different surface design techniques. The Best of Europe 2014 bridges are hand painted with acrylics.
