PRSA Los Angeles Selects 2013 Special Award Honorees for 49th Annual Prism Awards Show

LOS ANGELES--()--The Public Relations Society of America’s (PRSA) Los Angeles chapter has selected its 2013 Special Award honorees, slated to be recognized at the 49th annual PRSA-LA PRism Awards Show. Tickets are now on sale for the November 6 evening gala at The Beverly Hills Hotel, which will celebrate outstanding achievements in public relations throughout greater Los Angeles.

A time-honored tradition in the Los Angeles public relations community, the PRism Awards were established decades ago to honor a select number of companies, individuals and programs that most exemplify above-and-beyond industry and community impact.

“PRSA-LA has selected seven highly deserving recipients to honor with 2013 Special PRism Awards at this year’s PRism Awards Show,” said Steve Roth, PRSA-LA President. “The list of honorees this year is defined by a simple yet powerful, shared characteristic: industry-leading excellence. We look forward to celebrating these honorees along with the accomplishments and success of the Los Angeles public relations community at our November 6 gala.”

The 2013 PRism Awards Show will once again be under the steady hand of veteran award show producer and director Michael Seel, as PR professionals from across the region gather to recognize public relations excellence.

In addition to the Special Awards, other PRism awards will recognize outstanding achievements in public relations in dozens of diverse categories. Public relations agencies, corporations and non-profit organizations across the Los Angeles region can submit an online entry by August 25 for a chance to win a coveted 2013 PRism Award.

About PRism Special Awards

PR Professional of the Year. Awarded to an individual who demonstrates distinguished service to the profession, excellence either for a single program or for outstanding career achievements.

PR Team of the Year. Honors a public relations team, be it at an agency, corporation, government organization or educational institution, that has demonstrated excellence and outstanding achievement in their work as evidenced by teamwork, results and/or contributions to the field of public relations, their constituents, community or society at large.

Outstanding Achievement in Publicity. Recognizes an individual or organization that executes an extraordinary publicity campaign or program during the year and has demonstrated consistent excellence over time.

Outstanding Achievement in Public Affairs. Recognizes a non-PR individual or organization for their efforts to utilize and foster best practices in public affairs or community relations in order to make their community a better place by improving the lives of others.

Corporate Citizen of the Year. Honors a corporation for its philanthropic work toward positively impacting the local community.

Outstanding News Professional. Recognizes an outstanding media representative for professionalism and journalistic excellence.

The Joseph Roos Community Service Award. Honors a PRSA member who has demonstrated outstanding community service, either for a single project or an ongoing program.
