Constellation Energy Announces Finance Leadership Appointments

BALTIMORE--()--Constellation Energy (NYSE: CEG) today announced several changes within its financial leadership team, including the appointment of Jennifer E. Lowry as vice president and treasurer, Constellation Energy; Stephen J. Woerner as vice president and chief information officer, Constellation Energy; and Carim V. Khouzami as chief financial officer and treasurer, Baltimore Gas and Electric Company (BGE), the company’s regulated utility.

Lowry replaces Reese K. Feuerman, who has been named to the newly created role of vice president, operational finance, Constellation Energy. Sandra E. Brummitt, currently director of tax planning at Constellation Energy, replaces Khouzami as Constellation Energy’s director of investor relations. All report to Jonathan W. Thayer, senior vice president and chief financial officer, Constellation Energy. Khouzami will also participate as a member of the leadership team of BGE President Kenneth W. DeFontes. The appointments are effective immediately.

Lowry joined Constellation Energy in 2008 as assistant treasurer and brings approximately 20 years of experience in financing and treasury related activity. Prior to joining Constellation Energy, Lowry served as vice president, project finance, for Cogentrix, a Goldman Sachs subsidiary. Prior to that position, she served in various roles for AES Corporation, where she developed and financed acquisitions and green-field developments around the world.

Khouzami joined Constellation Energy in February 2005 and was appointed executive director of investor relations in 2009. In January 2010, he assumed the additional responsibility of leading the company’s corporate financial planning and analysis activities. In his new role at BGE, Khouzami is responsible for the treasury, financial planning and analysis, operational finance and accounting organizations. Prior to joining Constellation Energy, Khouzami held financial positions at Bear Stearns & Co., primarily focusing on mergers and acquisitions, and financing transactions within the financial institutions and insurance sectors.

Woerner served most recently as vice president of transformation for Constellation Energy. He was responsible in 2009-2010 for leading the major business transformation program at Constellation Energy. Woerner joined BGE in 1990 as an associate engineer and has held many leadership positions within the company, including vice president – electric transmission and distribution and senior vice president – gas and electric operations and planning. In addition, he recently served as chairman of the Southeastern Electric Exchange Engineering and Operations Executive Committee. In his new role, Woerner will be responsible for overseeing information technology for the company, including BGE, where he will maintain his role as senior vice president.

Feuerman joined Constellation Energy in October 2002 as vice president and controller, and was named vice president, chief accounting officer and treasurer in November 2008, and vice president, finance and treasurer in 2009. As treasurer, he played an important part in strengthening the company’s balance sheet and overall liquidity profile. In his new role, he will oversee supply chain, shared services and enterprise sourcing and expense management. Prior to joining Constellation Energy, Feuerman was vice president and controller for XO Communications.

Brummitt joined Constellation Energy in 2001 and most recently served as director of tax planning, where she has been involved in merger and acquisition activities, including acquisition due diligence and tax structuring. In her new role, she will manage the company’s relationships with shareholders and analysts. Prior to joining Constellation Energy, Brummitt was a senior tax specialist with financial services firm KPMG LLP in Baltimore.
