Nex Playground has seen rapid growth among families of young children thanks to its plug-and-play setup and fully motion-powered gameplay, making it fun and accessible for all ages. Players can choose to play either solo or with up to four participants, depending on the game.

While many modern entertainment options have made families more sedentary and isolated from each other, Nex’s goal is to reconnect families with the joy of movement through content that turns screen time into active playtime, while creating genuine bonding moments. For younger kids, the games are aimed at advancing multiple areas of child development, such as gross and fine motor skills, cognitive skills and critical thinking.

"From the perspective of both a mother and pediatrician, I believe that Nex Playground is a fantastic resource for children of all ages,” said Dr. Emily Greenwald, a pediatric emergency medicine physician in Durham, North Carolina. “Having spent a great deal of time playing the games with my own family, I have seen the benefits that it offers firsthand – from making screen time more physically active to building on skills such as hand-eye coordination, critical thinking, and practicing teamwork. It’s become a welcome resource heading into the summer break period, and we’re all looking forward to the new games and continuing some friendly family competition.”

“We’ve been fortunate to have amassed such an active and loyal community of Nex Playground users – including parents, educational professionals and child development specialists – whose opinions and feedback are taken into account when we launch new updates,” said David Lee, co-founder and CEO of Nex. “Nex Playground is not a replacement for getting outdoors, but rather a welcome resource to encourage activity and family bonding, especially when the weather is uncooperative or when visiting extended family. We’re thrilled to launch new games and expand our reach to even more families – and just in time for summer travel and activity planning!”

In its commitment to providing engaging, active play for all ages, Nex understands that privacy is a top priority for families. This is why Nex Playground has integrated privacy features including a magnetic camera cover, no video capture or processing in the cloud, and games that can be downloaded to the device to work completely offline.

The new summer games will be progressively released on the Nex Playground starting June 2024, and will be included in its Play Pass content subscription bundle for families. To learn more about Nex Playground, visit https://playground.nex.inc.
