"TOKYO Night & Light" Projection Mapping Display Unveiled at the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building!

It goes down in the Guinness World Records™ as the "largest architectural projection-mapped display (permanent)"!

TOKYO--()--To create the newest attraction to brighten the nightlife in Tokyo, "Tokyo Night & Light", a projection mapping display which uses light and sound as an expression of multi-colored art, was unveiled at a grand opening event on Sunday February 25, with the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building, one of Tokyo's main landmarks, as its canvas. Governor Yuriko Koike gave a speech at the event on behalf of the organizers and there was a projection mapping display, exhibiting many different light and sound effects, accompanied by a live performance from the artist, Aimer. The event was attended by 1,100 audience members who were selected in a draw from thousands of applicants and it was a huge success.
This project went down in the Guinness World Records™ as the "largest architectural projection-mapped display (permanent)". (Projection area: 13,904.956 square meters)

Artist Aimer attended the event as a surprise guest and her live music performance accompanied the projection mapping display on the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building. The atmosphere in the audience was electric when she performed two of her most popular songs: "Zankyosanka" and "800 (Eight Hundred)".
Governor Koike explained the purpose behind the project. "We hope that art combined with Japanese projection mapping technology will make this into a new tourist attraction.
The projection mapping display was accompanied by a live orchestra and created a fantastic atmosphere at the venue with different content being shown on weekdays and weekends. Finally, there was a Guinness World Records™ Certification Ceremony and Governor Koike was presented with the official certificate for the "largest architectural projection-mapped display (permanent)".
