WHAT:

The festival is free of charge and open to general public. It will be filled with a variety of events demonstrating Turkish culture, arts, fashion, and cuisine. Guests will have the opportunity to purchase Turkish arts & crafts items. Free children’s activities including face painting, balloon sculpting, and bounce house will make it a family event.

The Florida Turkish American Association (FTAA) is proud to present “Blue Voyage Along the Turkish Coast” in celebration of Turkey’s magnificent coastline with a day of Turkish music, dance, art and culture at the 14th Annual Florida Turkish Festival on Sunday, March 20, 2016 from 11:00 am to 7:00 p.m. at Arts Park, Young Circle, Hollywood, Florida.

The Festival is free of charge and open to the general public. The purpose of the festival is to promote Turkey with its rich and diverse culture. It is FTAA’s goal to give guests the opportunity to discover, celebrate, and savor Turkish hospitality, culture, and cuisine.

The Festival will be filled with a variety of events demonstrating Turkish culture, arts, cuisine, fashion, and help to create closer bonds with rich diversity of varied cultures that reside here in South Florida. The Festival’s highlights will include performances by folk dance groups performing Turkey’s famous traditional and distinctive folk dances, live Turkish music, and belly dancing. The Festival will be filled with a variety of events demonstrating Turkish culture, arts, cuisine, fashion, and connection with the American people. It will offer delicious Turkish foods for purchase such as doner kebab, borek (cheese and spinach filled pastry), baklava, and Turkish coffee, just to name a few of the delicacies. There will be traditional fortunetellers reading coffee grinds in the special coffee tent. Demonstrations of Turkish art will give guests the opportunity to purchase these unique and popular forms of Turkish arts and crafts. Also present will be free children’s activities which will include face painting, balloon sculpting, and a bounce house making the festival a family affair.
