Versa Networks Adds AI-Powered Security Capabilities to its Unified SASE Platform

Enhancements Include New GenAI Firewall for Threat Detection and Data Protection

SANTA CLARA, Calif.--()--Versa Networks, the global leader in AI/ML-powered Unified Secure Access Service Edge (SASE), today announced enhancements to its AI capabilities in the Versa Unified SASE platform, introducing powerful features designed to improve threat detection, accelerate remediation, and bolster data protection. These enhancements enable security teams to more effectively manage threats and improve their security posture in an increasingly sophisticated and complex threat environment.

The Need for AI in Security

CISOs, CIOs, and their understaffed teams continue to grapple with a challenging reality: More security tools have not translated into better security. Teams struggle to find relevant insights as they face an avalanche of security data. Their traditional, manual detection and remediation methods are inadequate against the faster, more complex AI-driven threats, and increasing investments in personnel and tools have proven ineffective.

What’s New

VersaAI™ is an integrated set of AI technologies built into the Versa Unified SASE platform that delivers insights for threat protection, data protection, and operations. It taps into a data lake with the telemetry from across the network and security infrastructure – from the WAN edge to cloud, campus, remote locations, users, and devices – to extract AI/ML insights that are seamlessly applied across the Versa product suite.

VersaAI introduces several new capabilities supporting advanced security use cases, including:

Threat Detection and Data Protection

  • GenAI Firewall expands on existing capabilities to limit shadow use cases of GenAI thereby reducing the new GenAI attack surface and emerging risks. It manages, monitors, and reports how organizations consume GenAI. With Versa GenAI Firewall, organizations can assess risks of apps, control access, and prevent unauthorized data movement.
  • Added relationship mapping to UEBA (User Entity Behavior Analytics) that uses social graphs to detect anomalies, determine the blast radius, and quickly find the root cause of a security incident. Security teams can easily visualize risk and accelerate forensic analysis to drill down into the relationships between users, devices, and apps/resources. Security governance teams can leverage this functionality to adapt security policies, access controls, and compliance requirements.

Anomaly Detection and Response

  • Explainable AI provides reasoning behind anomaly detections without using logs, making it easier for operations teams to understand AI-driven analysis and to respond more effectively.
  • MITRE ATT&CK TTPs (Tactics, Techniques, Procedures) added to Versa UEBA improves the fidelity of threat detections and rapid incident response with detailed insights into adversary behaviors from an expanded library of attack behaviors.

“Our advantage lies in the extensive unified security and networking telemetry generated by our platform over our vast SASE deployment base,” said Kumar Mehta, Versa Founder and Chief Development Officer. “This extensive telemetry data fine tunes AI models to deliver highly accurate insights to bolster security posture in real time and enable human operators to fight AI with AI.”
