ATLANTA--()--First senior living community with a focus on Korean American seniors opens in Atlanta, Georgia and welcomes residents to Eben Silver Town. The newly developed 100+ suite senior living community is a nod from a second generation Korean American developer to honor the Korean custom of caring for aging adults by emulating the silver towns of South Korea.

“The demand for a community where Korean American elders feel welcomed and heard in the US has gone unmet for quite some time,” said James Juhn, Eben Silver Town developer. “Our goal in creating Eben Silver Town is to do something good for the community, specifically older Korean Americans who desire to live in a comfortable environment with familiar food, language and activities. Traditionally, it was normal for Korean seniors to live with their children; however, many seniors today do not want to impose on their children or prefer to live apart, so we’re proud to bridge the gap and bring this community to them.”

The warm and welcoming community is a four-story state of the art residence exuding a vibrant lifestyle where Korean American seniors can feel seen and loved, and it’s delivered at a value. The apartments are oversized compared to similar communities and well appointed. The private, gated community features spacious common areas and thoughtful amenities such as karaoke, fitness studios suitable for yoga, dance and other cardio activity, library, chapel, salon, traditional outdoor Korean deck, Korean speaking physical therapist, formal and casual dining rooms, Koi pond, MuGungHwa trees and a children’s play room.

Religion, for example, is an important aspect of the Korean American lifestyle and for many church or temple is a focal point. For a Christian Korean American senior who attends church, corporate worship and morning prayer are very important. To that end, the community contains a chapel to help satisfy that need. In fact, the name “Eben” comes from the Biblical meaning of the word Ebenezer which means “Stone of Remembrance that God is my Helper,” while “Silver Town” is a popular phrase in Korean which has a meaning similar to retirement communities in the United States. The stone house (or community) means that God is our helper, and He keeps us safe.

“Though Eben Silver Town unapologetically promotes a focus on Korean culture, one thing we want to stress is that we are open to and welcome people of all cultures, races and ethnicities. We are seeing significant interest in Eben Silver Town from non-Korean Americans, whether it’s because of their love for the food, people or culture. Our humble desire is to break down cultural barriers through this community and honor every single resident who chooses to retire at Eben Silver Town,” Juhn said.

From soothing tones and vibes, to programming and operations, Solinity management is pleased to operate this first Eben Silver Town community.

“It is an honor to have the opportunity to create something unique and meaningful for the Korean American population in the Atlanta area and beyond through Eben Silver Town,” Josh Crisp, CEO of Solinity said. “It’s also very exciting to think about all of the community members who will be able to experience luxury living infused with a distinct Korean American culture. This community will fill a huge gap in the underserved Korean American population, but also serve any older adults seeking a wonderful living environment with rich amenities and vibrant unique culture.”

Solinity’s boutique approach to leadership, management, and program development allows for customization and attention to cultural necessities to create a community that is locally owned and nationally recognized.
