CityBase Partners with the City of Brownsville to Introduce Two New Payment Channels

CityBase cashiering and online payment technology will expand access for all residents.

CHICAGO--()--CityBase, a leading provider of government and utility payment technology, and the City of Brownsville, TX today announced the launch of a cloud-based cashiering solution and an online payment solution for the City of Brownsville, empowering residents to easily and efficiently make payments for essential services.

The first department to be onboarded will be the Brownsville Public Library. The new cashiering solution will enable customers to make in-person payments with the support of a member of staff, while the online portal will facilitate an easy to navigate bill payment experience from any device. Together, both payment channels accommodate all customers with a unified, consistent, and reliable check out experience no matter which payment channel they choose.

The new solution integrates in real-time to the City of Brownsville’s underlying databases, thereby promoting more efficient payment and reconciliation processes. Both new payment channels allow customers to make full or partial payments and all transactions immediately post against their balance, helping customers avoid late fees and other penalties. Customers have the added convenience of making payments by cash, check, or card.

“We are very excited to embark on this partnership with CityBase. Launching two new payment channels ensures we are providing convenient payment options to all of our residents, no matter how they choose to pay their bills. The new technology will enable staff to automate manual processes, streamlining operations and delivering even greater service to our residents,” says Michael Delmore, Chief Financial Officer of the City of Brownsville.

Brownsville staff will also benefit from Revenue Management, a powerful reporting and reconciliation tool that provides detailed transaction information to staff across both payment channels. Payment information is available immediately, enabling staff to resolve potential payment discrepancies, and ensuring efficient reconciliation and improved customer service.

“CityBase is proud to partner with the City of Brownsville to provide its customers with greater access for services,” said Mike Duffy, CEO and Founder of CityBase. “Brownsville’s investment in new technology shows the City’s dedication to continual innovation to meet evolving customer and staff needs.”
