Dino Rizzo Publishes Recent Interview Highlighting Church of the Highlands’ Growth

Dino Rizzo, a 35-year ministry veteran and co-founder of Healing Place Church, published a recent interview that highlighted the growth of Church of the Highlands in Alabama.

BIRMINGHAM, Ala.--()--Dino Rizzo, a 35-year ministry veteran who, along with his wife DeLynn, founded Healing Place Church in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, in 1993, is excited to announce that a new interview with him has been published highlighting the growth of Church of the Highlands.

As Dino Rizzo explained in the interview, there’s been some truly remarkable growth at Church of the Highlands in just the past year. Recently, the church has opened a new campus in Alabaster, Alabama, and it’s also expanding in Huntsville.

For the ground opening at Alabaster, before they had their first service, Church of the Highlands members were serving the community, letting them know that they were there and doing impactful things such as packing snacks in backpacks for students who need food.

Dino Rizzo, who serves on the Senior Leadership Team, credits Pastor Chris Hodges for Church of the Highlands’ growth and vision: “It is the heart of our pastor to serve the community.”

As Pastor Dino explained in the interview:

“We were serving … letting the community know, ‘We’re here for you. … We’re a church not only that holds service, but we’re a church to serve you.’”

The Huntsville campus is currently under construction. Church of the Highlands also owns land in Oxford and Sylacauga and will soon begin construction on campuses in The Shoals and Opelika.

“What you see happening at Highlands is amazing,” Dino Rizzo said. “I’ve never met more generous people like I have met in our church. But, the impact that boils down to a family, a single mom, someone who needs a Bible in their hand, someone who needs hope for the day … and we’re there as a dream team preaching the gospel, we’re loving them, we’re encouraging them. We’re giving them Jesus.”

Dino Rizzo said that in just the last year, Church of the Highlands has seen more than 3,000 people give their lives to Jesus Christ.

One of the main focuses of the church, according to Dino Rizzo, is to establish churches in all 28 correctional facilities in the state of Alabama. Right now, they already have a presence in 24 of them.

The ultimate goal is to establish similar relationships with juvenile centers across Alabama.

“We’ve got a big vision for that. We want to be in every single juvenile center,” Dino Rizzo explained. “How many of these young people are vulnerable? They’re in the valley of decision. They’re trying to figure out what type of life they’re going to live. So, that is an exciting thing for the future.”

In the recent interview, Dino Rizzo also talked about what impact Church of the Highlands and ARC (Association of Related Churches) -- at which he serves as executive director -- has been able to have across the world.

In addition to his roles at Church of the Highlands, Healing Place Church and ARC Churches, Dino Rizzo has written the book “Serve Your City” and founded Servolution.
