Lion’s Heart and The Bradley Rofer Foundation Partner to Launch Pride of Lions Family Volunteering Program

ANAHEIM HILLS, Calif. & SANTA ANA, Calif.--()--Lion’s Heart and The Bradley Rofer Foundation today announced a partnership to launch a new volunteering program geared towards families with young children (from kindergarten age and up). This expansion for Lion’s Heart, branded as Pride of Lions, will further strengthen its goal of encouraging youth to volunteer, understand what it is like to step in someone else's shoes, and eventually grow into adult leaders who continue serving the community in meaningful ways and making a difference.

“In this day and age when some young people aim to earn the most likes on social media or score the most victory points in sports, Lion’s Heart teens have achieved over 1.7 million community service hours across the United States while building a strong sense of self, empathy and compassion for others, and learning what it truly means to give back,” said Becca Tankersley, Chief Executive Officer for Lion’s Heart. “We are thrilled to partner with The Bradley Rofer Foundation to offer the Pride of Lions program for young children to get involved as a family unit.”

“One of the goals of The Bradley Rofer Foundation is to inspire and support children to #BeLikeBradley in terms of volunteering, community service, philanthropy, service to others, and development of empathy,” said Aron Rofer, Co-Founder & CEO of The Bradley Rofer Foundation. “Partnering with Lion's Heart to form the Pride of Lions family program was the perfect fit to carry on our mission.”

Josette Rofer, Co-Founder and President of The Bradley Rofer Foundation, added, “Bradley was just six years old when he started his flower business to help sick kids in the community. It’s exciting to see his legacy carried forward through the Pride of Lions program enabling families to volunteer together, while teaching our youth the importance of giving back.”

Kicking off the Pride of Lions program are two events in which families can learn more and volunteer:

  • April 23, 2023 - Kick-off event for Pride of Lions Family Volunteering with an information meeting at Pavilion Park Clubhouse in Irvine, 4-6pm.
  • April 30, 2023 - The Bradley Rofer Honor Walk at Rancho Santa Margarita Lake - a 2-mile walk-a-thon to honor Bradley and organ donors like him and to raise money to continue the foundation’s mission of helping sick and injured children in the community.

Lion’s Heart was founded in 2004 in Orange County, California. The organization has grown rapidly over the years, and now has members in 33 states. This innovative nonprofit connects 6th-12th grade students (and now families with younger children) with local volunteer opportunities and enriching program material.
