GLENDALE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Front Porch Communities Foundation (FPCF) has joined together with the Covia Foundation and the Bethany Center Foundation to form a consolidated philanthropic organization committed to supporting opportunities, services, and a host of value-added benefits for residents, participants, and employees of Front Porch that otherwise might not be available. It is the latest in a series of consolidations for FPCF which in 2021 brought together the Pacific Homes Foundation, the FACT Foundation, and the Sunny View Foundation under one umbrella.
The expansion of FPCF comes in the wake of the announcement last week of the formal completion of the merger between Front Porch Communities and Services and Covia Communities, which began in 2021. The consolidated organization serves approximately 7,500 residents in 19 senior living communities and 32 affordable housing properties. Other programs and services connect more than 10,000 participants throughout the country.
The newly-configured FPCF will be governed by a new nine-member Board of Directors and supported by local community philanthropic committees. Katharine Miller, who led the Covia Foundation for many years, has been named FPCF’s Executive Director and will work closely with the existing team members from throughout the Front Porch system.
“Residents are at the heart of each Front Porch community’s strong spirit of giving,” said Miller. “It’s an honor to be working with the residents of all of our communities and programs to deepen the culture of philanthropy and the spirit of generosity that is at the heart of all we do.”
Miller said that FPCF will work to decrease administrative expenses, increase fundraising opportunities, and extend the culture of philanthropy throughout Front Porch communities, programs, and relationships. She also assures that all past gifts made under the previous foundations “will be honored and used for the community and purpose contributors designated.”
“The fully consolidated Front Porch Communities Foundation will allow us to continue to do more good work that supports the well-being and social connections of those within our communities,” said John Woodward, CEO of Front Porch. “We are passionate about helping people live meaningful and fulfilled lives and now we are even better positioned to do that.”
Made possible by generous donors, FPCF supports innovative programs and community improvements that provide assistance for residents who outlive their resources, community improvements that support quality of life, community services programs that reach isolated older adults, and help for employees through the HEART Fund and Scholarship Funds.
Looking to the future, Lynn North, FPCF Board Chair summarizes, “With a consolidated Foundation, we are able to be more efficient and focus our energies on what is important: helping donors support life-changing services in the Front Porch communities and programs they care about. I am inspired by the community connections that are at the heart of the Front Porch mission and fostered through the Foundation.”
