CBRM Municipal Workers to Hold Rally Tuesday, December 14 at City Hall

SYDNEY, Nova Scotia--()--A rally will be held today at CBRM City Hall in Sydney. Outside municipal workers, members of CUPE 759, are calling on the mayor and council to negotiate a fair deal for all and prevent a work stoppage that may begin next week.

“We could be on the picket line before Christmas, while our city services hang in the balance,” says Kevin Ivey, CUPE 759 president. “We’re asking residents to contact Mayor McDougall and their councillor to tell them to give our members a fair deal.”

“All we want is simple - a respectful workplace and a decent wage for all workers. Truly, we are not asking for a lot,” says Ivey.
