Vino Vault Acquires Los Angeles’ Two Best-Known Wine Storage Facilities

LOS ANGELES--()--Vino Vault, a new wine storage network, has acquired its first two operations in Los Angeles. The company is in discussions with potential acquisitions across the United States and Europe.

Vino Vault’s first acquisition, The Best Cellar, closed in February 2021 and included a strategic partnership with well-known wine expert and founder Jeff Smith. Smith, who consults celebrities and high net-worth wine collectors on inventory management, collection mix, purchases and sales has been featured in Wine Spectator, New York Times and Variety.

“Growing The Best Cellar let me work with clients to curate their ideal collections, but Vino Vault brings operational expertise, technology and scale that I could never get to as a small operator,” said Smith. “Now I’ll focus on the part of the business I love, knowing my clients’ collections are in excellent hands.”

In August 2021 Vino Vault acquired the Wine Hotel, near West Hollywood’s restaurant row, which was owned and operated by connoisseur Dan Perrelli. A favorite of sommeliers and vintners, Perrelli is known as the West Coast’s premier wine salon host, connecting collectors and wine makers in casual but sophisticated events. Perrelli will remain a strategic partner and consultant to collectors, providing clients access to exclusive events.

“I’m excited to transition to the part of my business I’m most passionate about; helping people discover new wine experiences from great winemakers,” Perrelli said. “Vino Vault will ensure my clients' collections are properly protected and organized – so we can just focus on enjoying the wine!”

Vino Vault is led by CEO Jeff Anthony, former division founder of Iron Mountain Entertainment Services, now the market share leader in irreplaceable media storage for film studios and music labels. Other team leaders who worked with Anthony to build the secure storage giant have joined him at Vino Vault.

“I’ve always been a wine collector and was frustrated that the levels of service, security and technology that we’d built for the entertainment industry weren’t available to me as a wine storage customer,” said Anthony. “With the right team, technology and network of locations, Vino Vault will remove all of the frustrating and tedious parts of wine collecting.”
