NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Otterbourg P.C. announced today that Michael O’Brien has joined the firm as a member in the corporate department. He comes to Otterbourg from the New York office of Akerman LLP, where he served as a partner.
Mr. O’Brien’s practice focuses on mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, and private equity transactions, with a particular emphasis on the representation of companies and investors in the fintech and life sciences industries. He also counsels companies in general corporate and securities matters, including financing transactions. He has represented creditors and debtors in the corporate aspects of restructuring transactions, including the issuance and exchange of securities and negotiation of new shareholder arrangements.

A member of the New York State Bar Association and the American Bar Association, he has served on the board of directors of the Polytechnic Institute of NYU, the Lincoln Center Consolidated Corporate Fund's leadership committee and the board of directors of the Friends of the Highline. He received his law degree from Harvard Law School.
