RubiconMD Launches COVID-19 Vaccine eConsults and Resources to Improve Access to Latest Vaccine Insights

NEW YORK--()--Today, RubiconMD, the leading eConsult platform providing access to specialist expertise, is launching a suite of COVID-19 vaccine resources to continue supporting primary care physicians throughout the pandemic. Clinicians will be able to submit eConsults to RubiconMD’s panel of COVID-19 vaccine experts, review real eConsult case studies submitted on the platform, and leverage a range of educational resources curated in partnership with CONVINCE USA Initiative at the CUNY Graduate School of Public Health and Health Policy.

In a survey of RubiconMD clinicians, 50% of respondents felt that they do not have all the resources needed to make vaccine decisions to adequately address patient questions. Respondents strongly emphasized the need for digestible summaries of vaccine recommendations, clinical guidelines for patients with complex conditions, and multilingual patient-facing resources.

“Our country is still in crisis. Equitable and rapid distribution of the COVID-19 vaccine is key in allowing us to return to normalcy,” said Dr. Celine Gounder, an infectious disease expert and member of the Biden-Harris Transition COVID-19 Advisory Board. “When it comes to their health, patients trust their primary care clinicians more than just about any other source of information. Primary care is critical to getting our nation vaccinated, and having a resource like RubiconMD supporting primary care efforts is invaluable."

“As the COVID-19 situation evolves, clinicians are tasked with understanding the overwhelming amount of new clinical information and translating that into the best care for their patients,” Gil Addo, RubiconMD Co-founder and CEO said. “PCP’s have trusted RubiconMD insights for years, and we are committed to meeting their needs throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.”

In light of this feedback, RubiconMD encourages clinicians to reach out to their specialist experts with any vaccine questions and leverage the dashboard for continually updated curated content and CME eligible webinars.

“We are encouraged to see a rising wave of COVID-19 vaccine acceptance across all communities but it is urgent that we meet this opportunity with vaccine education and access. This platform ensures that primary care physicians can deliver the clear, accurate communication that is vital in fighting a complex pandemic,” said Dr. Ayman El-Mohandes, Dean of CUNY SPH and a contributing leader of CONVINCE USA.
