True Tickets Brings Secure, Contactless Digital Ticketing to Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts

BOSTON--()--Performing arts venues are turning to digital ticketing to reopen safer, smarter, and stronger. One of those venues, Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts, has tapped True Tickets to launch its secure contactless digital ticketing service. It is one of several new safety measures that has allowed Dr. Phillips Center to operate its business in a safe and effective way.

Located in Orlando, Florida, Dr. Phillips Center has become a hub for international, national, and local artists, welcoming more than 2 million guests since opening in 2014. In December 2020, the center launched a six-month outdoor live entertainment event called Frontyard Festival™ to bring people safely together again and to put people back to work. It was one of the first in the industry to build a safe outdoor live entertainment venue of this scale. True Tickets’ secure contactless digital ticketing service is supporting the center’s socially distanced outdoor and indoor performances and events. By shifting to digital ticketing, the venue can bypass will call and physical ticket transactions, minimizing contact between guests and colleagues.

In addition, the True Tickets service is helping Dr. Phillips Center better serve its guests by gaining information on ticket use and attendance. That knowledge will help it create even more inspiring, educational, and entertaining experiences.

“True Tickets gives both our guests and colleagues peace of mind by using technology to deliver and access tickets, reducing the need for physical exchange,” said Nick Smith, Senior Director of Ticketing Services and Business Systems at Dr. Phillips Center. “Through the service, we also gain insight into who actually attends each show, not just who bought the tickets. That knowledge will help us better understand our audiences, which in turn will enable us to elevate our guest experience even more.”

Using APIs, the True Tickets service quickly integrated with Dr. Phillips Center’s existing ticketing platform. Guests will continue to purchase tickets through the interface they’re familiar with, but True Tickets has transitioned the venue to secure contactless digital ticketing.

“Dr. Phillips Center is a leader in its industry and has prioritized the health and safety of its employees and guests at every stage of its reopening. We’re excited to partner with them starting with their Frontyard Festival™,” said Matt Zarracina, CEO of True Tickets. “Our goal is to help organizations maximize their operations and enhance the guest experience – from knowing who is in the venue to offering secure contactless admission that makes everyone feel safer.”
