Houston Hope Line – Free Mental Health Coaching and Referrals

Amid the COVID-19 Crisis, only free mental health line in Houston

HOUSTON--()--The Houston Hope Line is now the sole remaining free service that is an alternative to a traditional crisis hotline and provides community members, who are experiencing mental health distress, with peer support and referrals to local resources that are matched to their needs. The Houston Health department previously had a COVID specific ‘hot-line,’ but the line is no longer in operation. The Houston Hope Line is a free service that acts as a ‘warmline’ to serve Houstonians who may need an extra listening ear and offers a new way for Houstonians to combat stress, anxiety and isolation that comes from feeling down or lonely, especially during the extremely volatile time battling COVID-19.

“Navigating the mental health care system is difficult and somewhat frightening. The Houston Hope Line offers those in distress an easily accessible starting point for help,” says Dr. Matthew Stanford, CEO of the Hope and Healing Center & Institute.

Features and benefits of the Houston Hope Line include.

  • Free, readily available resource for anyone needing someone to talk to
  • A Mental Health referral network
  • Resource for all Houstonians struggling with COVID-19 related stress

The Houston Hope Line is available daily (Monday through Sunday) from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and is free for all people. For more information on the Houston Hope Line, visit www.houstonhopeline.com
