Canon Medical Introduces One-Beat Spectral Cardiac CT

Aquilion ONE / PRISM Edition Now Offers Deep Learning Spectral Capabilities for Cardiac Exams

TUSTIN, Calif.--()--To meet the growing cardiovascular needs of healthcare providers today, Canon Medical Systems USA, Inc. is breaking ground once again with the introduction of Deep Learning Spectral CT for cardiovascular imaging. The Aquilion ONE / PRISM Edition now offers one-beat spectral cardiac CT imaging. Thanks to the 16 cm wide area detector, one rotation is all it takes to image the whole heart in as little as 0.275 seconds. This ultra-fast acquisition, used by cardiac imaging experts around the world, is now combined with rapid kVp switching and Deep Learning Spectral Reconstruction, to acquire whole-heart spectral images in one beat (pending 510(k) clearance).

Designed for deep intelligence, the Aquilion ONE / PRISM Edition integrates artificial intelligence (AI) technology to maximize conventional and spectral CT capabilities with automated workflows, while providing deep clinical insights to assist physicians in making more informed decisions across the patient’s care cycle. To make it even easier for clinicians, the fully integrated end-to-end workflow is easy to use and can be incorporated into routine protocols.

“This is the first time our industry has seen one-beat spectral cardiac CT – and it was made possible by the integration of AI in our CT technologies,” said Erin Angel, managing director, CT Business Unit, Canon Medical Systems USA, Inc. “Whether its primary clinical value be in the virtual monoenergetic imaging of plaque in the coronaries, or the visualization and quantification of iodine uptake in the myocardium, we look forward to working with the world’s leading experts in cardiac imaging to explore the clinical potential of one-rotation spectral cardiac imaging with Aquilion ONE / PRISM Edition.”

Canon Medical will be showcasing the Aquilion ONE / PRISM Edition and its cardiac capabilities at this year’s virtual RSNA. For more information, visit https://us.medical.canon/news/events/rsna/.
