NEWTON, Mass.--()--Katie Potter, president and chief executive officer of Five Star Senior Living Inc. (Nasdaq: FVE), and Joe Coughlin, director of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology AgeLab and author of the bestselling book, The Longevity Economy: Inside the World's Fastest Growing, Most Misunderstood Market, will be among more than 15 experts presenting compelling and challenging ideas for better aging at the two-day, fully virtual SAGE/2020 conference on Sept. 1 and 2.

The SAGE/2020 conference, hosted by Honor, a tech-enabled home care company, will bring together a mix of leaders, thinkers, academics, innovators and entrepreneurs in healthcare, home care and retail for a variety of fast-paced talks in which they will share insights on key trends shaping the future of elder care and aging well.

With the changing preferences of older adults, what aging services providers are used to delivering may not be successful in the future. At Five Star, we are focused on becoming a platform of life services for older adults,” says Potter. “This approach will allow us to serve older adults in many different ways throughout the journey of aging. All of us in the industry have to consider the needs and desires of this evolving demographic and how that will change the services and experience we provide.”

Coughlin says that his research shows “if you make it to 65, you’ve got a better than 50 percent chance of making it to over 85. That’s another 8,000 days and an amazing new, endless frontier to invent an entirely new life stage. And it presents new opportunities for business, government and society.”

Potter and Coughlin will present their talk at 2:40 p.m. Eastern time on Wednesday, Sept. 2. All conference sessions are free of charge. To register, access the agenda and learn about all the speakers, go to the SAGE/2020 website.
