Dental Products Report® Produces Infection Control Supplement with August Issue

The special supplement examines strategies, best practices and technologies to make dentistry as safe as possible for clinicians and patients in the COVID-19 health care environment

CRANBURY, N.J.--()--Dental Products Report® (DPR), a multimedia platform providing dentists the latest advances in equipment, materials, supplies and services in the dental industry, will publish an infection control supplement, Safe Practices: Infection Control Lessons from the COVID-19 Pandemic, in tandem with its August issue.

The goal of the supplement is to help dental professionals navigate the current health care landscape of changing regulations and standards, new technologies and best practices. Supplement content was created in collaboration with DPR’s network of dental infection control experts and with key opinions leaders recommended by DPR’s sister publication, Infection Control Today®.

“Similar to many other sectors of health care, the dental industry will likely be feeling the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic for years to come,” said Mike Hennessy Jr., president and CEO of MJH Life Sciences™, parent company of DPR. “As changes in all areas of practice operations are implemented, DPR will continue to report on the latest operational guidelines and recommended safety protocols, serving as a resource for all members of the dental community.”

Articles in the supplement explore a spectrum of best practices for infection control in relation to dentist, hygienists, assistants, practice mangers and patients in the COVID-19 health care environment. Articles examine the impact of safety requirements, social distancing practices and the expanded use of personal protective equipment. The supplement also includes a dental infection control product roundup and a review of different approaches and technologies to create a safer practice setting.

“Nowhere is this more apparent than the dental industry when it comes to infection control strategies and the use of personal protective equipment to make the practice of dentistry as safe as possible for clinicians and patients,” said Noah Levine, editorial director of DPR. “This special supplement is designed to be a guide to newer infection control technologies, new best practices for safe clinical care and the impact these changes are having on dental practices and the dentists, hygienists, assistants, office managers and everyone else who walks through a practice’s doors.”

The full supplement will also be published online, featuring expanded content with corresponding videos and podcasts.
