CAMDEN, N.J. & MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Just before the one-year anniversary of their partnership with the Camden Dream Center, Tallo, a digital platform and app that connects talent with opportunities, has reached a new milestone. The platform now provides one million users with a place to start learning about and preparing for their future career.
“Reaching this milestone of one millions users means so much to the Tallo team,” said Casey Welch, Tallo CEO and Co-founder. “Tallo is now helping over one million members of the current and future workforce connect with education and career opportunities. With our partners like the Camden Dream Center, we are shaping the future.”
Tallo helps foster meaningful dialogue between high school students, college students, jobseekers, corporate partners, post-secondary institutions, and organizations by serving as a networking platform that uniquely caters to the skills and expertise that talent (age 13+) have to showcase. Users build online portfolios and profiles to showcase their test scores, classes, certificates, experience and extracurriculars, and their future career and education interests.
“Having a personal highlight reel shouldn’t be exclusive to high school and college athletes,” explained Welch. “That’s why we created Tallo, because we believe that all students should have an easy way to put their best professional foot forward.”
Tallo users can communicate with recruiters at companies and colleges to learn more about their programs, mission, available positions, and the kind of training they require. Similarly, companies and colleges can reach out to talent users who look like a good fit for their organization, offering relevant advice in the hopes of building a future talent pipeline.
“It’s been incredibly helpful to have a way to directly reach students interested in STEM,” said Dulcy O'Rourke, Corporate STEM Program Manager at Lockheed Martin. “Tapping into Tallo’s ever-growing pool of students has allowed us to expand and strengthen our talent pipeline, as well as give us hope for the future."
Since 2012, Tallo has gained users in all 50 states, representing over 27,000 high schools and 4,000 colleges, and has made over 180,000 connections for their talent users. Thanks in a large part to the partnership with the Camden Dream Center, there are currently over 15,000 Tallo users in the state of New Jersey, and an additional 57,000+ users in the surrounding states of Pennsylvania, Delaware, and New York.
“The Camden Dream Center and Tallo work together to provide the youth of Camden with virtual connections they might not otherwise have access to,” said Pastor Keith Davis, director of the Camden Dream Center, and career technologist. “We’re passionate about shaping the next generation of leaders, and that starts with providing our community with the right opportunities.”
Over the past year, Tallo has been cited by a report commissioned by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, Business Insider, and the Office of the White House as a pioneer in the career navigation process, unlocking real career avenues for determined students ready to enter the workforce.
