MEDIA ADVISORY: Impact of Muslim Travel Ban Is Focus of Symposium at USC Gould School of Law

--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The Southern California Interdisciplinary Law Journal, in collaboration with USC’s Immigrants and Global Migration Initiative, will host “The Muslim Travel Ban: Policy Responses and Future Impact on Immigration,” bringing together thought leaders and scholars in academia to discuss the legal, political and social analysis of the creation of the ban, the public discourse surrounding it, and its impact.

WHEN: Tuesday, March 10, 8:30 a.m. – 12:45 p.m. PT.

WHERE: USC Gould School of Law Faculty Lounge, 4^th Floor (map and directions).

WHAT: The conference features two panel discussions.

Panel 1 includes scholars specializing in travel ban and immigration-related research presenting findings on the impact of migration to the U.S. and future repercussions. Panelists have been selected for publication in Issue IV of Volume 29 of the Southern California Interdisciplinary Law Journal.

Panel 2 includes academics, policymakers, and other interested parties and will further elaborate on the effects of the Ban and the future of immigration law and policies in the U.S., specifically how such policies will affect Arab, Middle Eastern, Muslim and South Asian communities and how the expanded version of the travel ban affects black Muslims and targets the most vulnerable populations: persecuted refugees.
