GREENWICH, Conn.--()--Orthopaedic & Neurosurgery Specialists (ONS), one of the nation’s leading providers of orthopaedic and neurosurgery services, announced today that Timothy F. Corvino, M.D., has been named Chief Executive Officer of the organization, effective March 1.

Founded by physicians in 1998, ONS is a multi-specialty orthopaedic and spine group with three locations in Connecticut and New York. The practice’s 26 fellowship-trained physicians provide expertise in the full spectrum of musculoskeletal conditions and injuries, including sports medicine, minimally invasive orthopaedic, spine and brain surgery, joint replacement and trauma. ONS also operates an ambulatory surgery center and offers ancillary services, such as physical therapy and MRI, as well as urgent ortho care.

“Tim Corvino’s experience as an executive, as well as a physician, will be a tremendous asset to ONS. As CEO, he will be invaluable in guiding the next chapter in the life of this organization that is centered around growth, while continuing a commitment to providing exceptional patient care,” said Seth R. Miller, M.D., a founding partner of ONS.

In July of 2019, ONS announced a growth capital partnership with Kohlberg & Company, L.L.C. (Kohlberg), a leading private equity firm headquartered in New York. This partnership allowed ONS to expand its extensive offerings of clinical capabilities and ancillary services and serve a broader patient base.

“I am deeply honored to join an organization with such a strong history of superior clinical quality, successful physician leadership and excellent patient experience,” said Tim Corvino, M.D., CEO of ONS. “I look forward to working with the physician leaders and employees as we continue serving the Tri-state region, while also developing a broader regional growth strategy with like-minded musculoskeletal physicians and practices that are committed to clinical excellence, share our values and want to shape the future of healthcare delivery.”

Most recently, Corvino served as Chief Operating Officer of Covenant Physician Partners, where he prepared the company for the significant growth that occurred during his tenure. Corvino helped to build the infrastructure needed to evolve the company into a physician services organization that now serves 19 states through more than 60 physician partnerships. Prior to Covenant, he served as President, Integrated Acute Care for U.S. Acute Care Solutions, the nation's leading physician-owned provider of integrated acute care services for 6 million patients annually.

“Through our 20-year legacy, ONS has developed a highly successful practice for the delivery of orthopaedic and neurosurgery services that provides best-in-class patient care and industry-leading clinical outcomes,” said Mark Camel, M.D., a founding partner of ONS. “Tim understands the truly unique model on which we’ve built our successful practice, as well as the healthcare needs and expectations of our community.”

“We look forward to partnering with Tim and ONS to continue focusing on our patient-first model, while also building a regional platform with like-minded, leading musculoskeletal specialists,” said Robert A. Cucuel, Operating Partner, Kohlberg & Company.

ONS is well-positioned for continued success under Corvino’s leadership as CEO, and together with Kohlberg, has the resources needed for expansion and strategic growth through regional and national partnerships.
