Major League Rugby’s Own Jake Feury Shows His Entrepreneurial Side in Opening of Stretch Recovery Lounge

Ridgewood Entrepreneur Has Paired Experiences in the Business and Athletic World to Open an Athletic Recovery Center

RIDGEWOOD, N.J.--()--Jake Feury, wing, center and fullback for the MLR's Rugby United of New York, has turned his personal tribulation of struggling with a debilitating back injury into a platform to found Stretch Recovery Lounge, a premier assisted stretching and athletic recovery facility in Ridgewood, New Jersey.

Feury decided to open his own athletic recovery facility with the perfect combination of business and athletic experience to pair. He worked for several years at the NFL in a variety of departments, where he polished key skills that are necessary for the day-to-day operations at Stretch. During his time at Middlebury College, Feury played football and rugby. He then continued to play rugby abroad in Australia, Ireland and England, before returning to the United States to play for Rugby United New York.

After suffering from multiple vertebrae fractures in 2015, Feury experienced lower back pain that prevented him from enjoying everyday life. Uncertain of his future in rugby, Feury tried a multitude of treatments to find a solution for his back situation. After finding stretch therapy, Feury was inspired to share how the simple modality was the primary solution to his injury. “By providing more flexibility, particularly in my lower body, I was finally able to move the way I needed to, without pain, for the first time in months,” stated Feury.

After discovering how effective stretching was for his recovery, Feury founded Stretch Recovery Lounge and opened for business on October 5th, 2019. Stretch Recovery Lounge offers different services that improve mobility, flexibility and range of motion. The recently opened business has experienced steady revenue growth in its first few months of business and anticipates a successful future.
