Markowitz Herbold PC Announces Up to $250K Reward for Information Leading to Arrest and Conviction of Person(s) Responsible for Murder of Effie Entezari

VANCOUVER, Wash.--()--The estate of Effie Entezari, represented by Markowitz Herbold PC, is offering a reward of up to $250,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of any person or persons responsible for the murder of Effie.

Effie was murdered on May 1, 1989, in the parking lot of her Vancouver apartment complex at 11614 NE 49th St. Her husband, Mike Entezari, was arrested for the crime based largely on the fact that the parties were in the process of a divorce. Within a year, Mike was sentenced to 25 years in prison. The case against him was founded primarily on circumstantial evidence and faulty ballistics. Mike maintained his innocence up until his death in 2019.

Although Effie was shot in a heavily populated area, no eyewitness to the shooting came forward. There was, however, one witness: Effie’s nearby neighbor reported that she looked out her window after hearing what sounded like a car backfire; she saw a small, yellow car back up at high speed from multiple parking spaces away — past where Effie’s body would have been lying — then get closer to where the body was found, slow down, and race off. Mike didn’t own a yellow car.

I am confident that my father did not murder my mother,” said Pooneh Gray, daughter of Mike and Effie and representative of the estate. “The estate is working hard to uncover new evidence and collaborate with local law enforcement to hold my mother’s true killers responsible. I am hopeful that this reward will encourage additional witnesses to come forward.”

Anyone who may have witnessed any suspicious activity on the day of the incident or who has information related to Effie’s death is encouraged to contact estate representatives at effieentezari@gmail.com or 360-210-7430. Tips can remain confidential.
