Registration deadline is Nov. 1 or until capacity is filled

NEW YORK--()--Military veterans and spouses are invited to attend the 9th Annual Veterans on Wall Street (VOWS) Symposium, Nov. 4, 2019, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Hudson Yards in Manhattan. VOWS is a consortium of more than 100 firms — including presenting sponsors Citi, HSBC and Wells Fargo & Co. — dedicated to honoring former and current military personnel by facilitating career and business opportunities.

The 2019 VOWS Symposium brings veterans and military spouses together with corporate leaders from the financial services industry, government, military, and veteran support organizations and more. The Symposium is designed to convene leading thinkers and stakeholders to discuss transition into the civilian workforce, with a focus on career readiness.

For the first time, select participating companies will conduct job interviews during the Symposium for a variety of career opportunities, including financial crime specialists, bank relationship advisors and managers. The full-day event will feature a roundtable discussion on best practices and workshops to help veterans and military spouses learn job-search skills, such as building strong resumes and using LinkedIn to find career opportunities. The event is designed to encourage organizations to collaborate, develop and share recruiting and readiness best practices.

Featured Speakers:

  • Phil McConkey, Academy Securities partner and president; former Naval officer and pro football player
  • John Shrewsberry, Wells Fargo chief financial officer
  • Bob Woodruff, ABC News correspondent; co-founder, the Bob Woodruff Foundation
