Rasmussen College Practical Nursing Diploma Program in Eagan Earns ACEN Accreditation

Accreditation validates the College’s commitment to meeting nursing education standards

EAGAN, Minn.--()--Rasmussen College, a regionally accredited private college, today announced its Eagan, Minnesota, campus has earned programmatic accreditation from the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) for its Practical Nursing (PN) Diploma program.1, 2 Accreditation affirms the College’s commitment to meeting educational standards and signifies the PN program has met or exceeded criteria for educational quality in Nursing curriculum and preparation for graduates to work successfully in the profession upon graduation.

“We are committed to delivering quality education across all of our Nursing programs,” said Dr. Angela Christian, DNP, RNC, Rasmussen College Eagan campus Dean of Nursing. “Earning accreditation for our PN program through ACEN affirms we are delivering on our responsibility to offer quality Nursing education for our students.”

The ACEN-Accredited Practical Nursing Program

In addition to preparing graduates to confidently sit for the NCLEX-PN® exam, the PN Diploma program, led by experienced nurse faculty, provides students with hands-on training in a supportive campus environment. The program has four start dates per year and no pre-nursing course requirements or wait list, so qualified students can start their journey toward a rewarding career as a licensed practical nurse (LPN) by completing the program in as few as 12 months.3

For added convenience, the PN program at the Eagan campus is offered with expanded class times on evenings and weekends. PN students are able to choose to take evening and weekend courses or daytime weekday courses. To offer even more flexibility and cost savings, the program is available with Flex Choice® self-directed assessments, which allow students to blend traditional online courses with self-directed assessments that provide optional coaching assistance as they prepare to meet the growing healthcare needs in the community.

According to the labor analytics firm Burning Glass, more than 2,564 job postings appeared in the last 12 months for licensed practical nurses (LPNs) in the Twin Cities metro. Like many communities nationwide, the Twin Cities are in need of highly skilled LPNs, with demand projected to grow by more than 12 percent by 2029.

“We have strong community partnerships that allow our students to have access to a variety of clinical opportunities throughout the Twin Cities,” said Christian. “Our communities are in critical need of qualified, caring nurses as the population ages and local hospitals and clinics look to grow and expand their services. We are proud of our ACEN accreditation and are excited for our students and community members who will directly benefit from the exceptional Nursing programs we strive to provide every day.”

The Rasmussen College Practical Nursing Diploma programs at the Land O’ Lakes/East Pasco, Florida, and Mankato, Moorhead and St. Cloud, Minnesota, campuses are also accredited by ACEN.2
