Greystar Taps Pia Cornejo to Lead Newly Formed People & Culture Team

Human Resources Executive to Enhance Corporate Culture and Align Talent Management with Business Strategy

CHARLESTON, S.C.--()--Greystar Real Estate Partners, LLC and its affiliates (“Greystar”), a global leader in the investment, development, and management of high-quality rental housing properties, is pleased to announce that veteran human resources executive Pia Cornejo has joined the firm as Senior Managing Director. In this role, she will be responsible for leading Greystar’s newly formed People & Culture team.

The People & Culture team’s global mandate includes aligning Greystar’s business strategy with talent management and performance, while working to enhance the firm’s corporate culture as it continues to expand. Ms. Cornejo will focus on forming strategic internal partnerships to develop plans that support critical business objectives; effecting organizational change that corresponds with the evolution of Greystar’s operating model; evaluating and improving upon programs that enhance corporate culture, including talent acquisition, training and development, and benefits and compensation; and advancing the firm’s ongoing commitment to hiring and retaining world-class talent.

Ms. Cornejo joins Greystar from InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG), where she spent the last 11 years helping leaders deliver outstanding performance and guest experiences through people. Prior to her role at IHG, she had a diverse career working in human resources, marketing and product development roles for organizations such as Starwood Hotels & Resorts and the Atlanta Committee for the Olympic Games. Ms. Cornejo holds a bachelor’s degree from Tulane University and an MBA from the London Business School.
