TEL AVIV, Israel--(BUSINESS WIRE)--PacketLight Networks, a leading provider of DWDM and optical transport network (OTN) solutions, today announced receiving Federal Information Processing Standard (FIPS) 140-2 Level 2 validation for its state-of-the-art fiber optic networking Layer-1 encryption solutions, awarded by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST).
FIPS certification provides external body assurance of PacketLight’s encryption solution, and is adopted as a best practice in many regions around the world, including Europe, APAC, Singapore, Canada and Australia. PacketLight’s products are now eligible for deployment by financial institutions, healthcare facilities, enterprises, and United States federal agencies and government service providers, which require FIPS compliance to meet the appropriate security standards for protecting sensitive data across the fiber network.
