CRANBURY, N.J.--()--Physicians’ Education Resource® (PER®), a worldwide leading resource for continuing medical education, will host the 17th Annual School of Breast Oncology® from Oct. 31 to Nov. 2 at the Emory Conference Center Hotel in Atlanta, Georgia, and will be chaired by Joyce O'Shaughnessy, M.D., the Celebrating Women Chair in Breast Cancer Research, Baylor Charles A. Sammons Cancer Center, Texas Oncology, co-chair, breast cancer research program, The US Oncology Network.

“The School of Breast Oncology® was developed more than 16 years ago as an increasing number of oncologists were focusing their clinical practices on the treatment of breast cancer,” said Phil Talamo, president of PER®. “We are thrilled to share the comprehensive agenda for this intensive 3-day curriculum-based program, focused exclusively on breast cancer clinical management.”

O’Shaughnessy added, “Coming to SOBO is the best breast cancer boot camp for practicing oncologists. This multi-day conference allows attendee’s to deep dive into breast cancer data and management strategies. This year at SOBO we’ll have a special lecture on existential issues our breast cancer patients face and how these issues are manifest in their lives and in our clinics, with an interactive discussion with expert oncology psychologist, Dr. Shannon Popitto.”

For the past 16 years, this three-day educational program has provided medical, radiation and surgical oncologists with a comprehensive review of data on the most important aspects of breast cancer biology, diagnostics, prevention and treatment, with lectures emphasizing clinical implications presented by leading clinical investigators. At this year’s meeting, expert presenters will then delve into conversations surrounding the application of current and evolving imaging options for diagnosing, staging, and monitoring breast cancer that will feature evaluations of clinical data, as well as the application clinical trial data to optimize outcomes for patients adopting newly evolved treatment strategies.

Accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education and approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing, this live activity will provide attendees the opportunity to earn up to 26.0 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ and 26.0 nursing contact hours.
