Berkshire Partners Announces New Advisory Directors

BOSTON--()--Berkshire Partners LLC, a Boston-based investment firm, announced today that Chuck Ball and Carol Vallone have joined the firm as Advisory Directors. Both Chuck and Carol will work with Berkshire to source new investment ideas and serve as advisors to portfolio companies.

Mr. Ball is a highly experienced healthcare executive having spent over 25 years in various positions—most recently as the Senior Vice President of Distribution Services and, prior to that, as the President, Health Systems—at AmerisourceBergen Drug Corporation and its predecessor company. Currently, Mr. Ball continues to build upon his expertise partnering with companies as a healthcare consultant while also staying involved with several leading healthcare organizations, including serving on the board of directors of the American Heart Association of Southeastern Pennsylvania and as a Wish Granter and a former member of the Speaker’s Bureau for the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Mr. Ball is also a partner in Gaderian Wines.

Ms. Vallone is a seasoned SaaS executive with expertise in launching, scaling and selling global market-leading companies. Ms. Vallone has served as President and Chief Executive Officer of WebCT Inc., Wimba Corporation and Meteor Learning. She has also served on multiple boards at leading non-profit healthcare, public financial services and e-commerce organizations. Currently, Ms. Vallone serves as chair of the board of trustees at McLean Hospital, is a member of the board of trustees at the Massachusetts General Hospital Institute of Health Professions, serves on the finance committee at Partners HealthCare and serves on the board of directors of Arosa LLC. Ms. Vallone was also previously a board member of Demandware Inc., as well as a board member of Beverly National Bank.

Advisory Directors are business executives or industry experts well known to Berkshire who participate in specific activities that arise in their areas of expertise, including deal origination, due diligence investigation, investment deliberation and portfolio company advisory services.
