Athena Capital Advisors Welcomes Beth Lehman as Deputy General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer

LINCOLN, Mass.--()--Athena Capital Advisors LLC is pleased to announce that Beth Lehman has joined the firm as Deputy General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer. Athena is a privately owned, independent Registered Investment Advisor (RIA) that provides customized investment solutions to high net worth private clients, foundations, and endowments.

At Athena Capital, Ms. Lehman will manage the regulatory compliance team and will be responsible for formulating and implementing all compliance policies and procedures within the firm. She will work closely with Athena Capital’s Client and Research teams to conduct due diligence and perform legal reviews on all alternative investments.

Ms. Lehman was former General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer for GW & Wade, LLC, a registered investment advisor serving primarily high net worth individuals and families. Previously, she worked for KPMG in its Regulatory Risk and Compliance practice group and as Senior Counsel in the Enforcement Division of the Securities and Exchange Commission.

Ms. Lehman was the recipient of the SEC’s Chairman’s Award for work related to the collapse of Enron Corp. and its Division Director’s Award for work related to unlawful market timing activity at Prudential Securities. She received her JD/MBA from Suffolk Law School, concentration with distinction in financial services law, and her Bachelor of Arts, English, from Boston University.
