Invacare Contributes 39 Years of Support for National Veterans Wheelchair Games

ELYRIA, Ohio--()--Invacare Corporation (NYSE: IVC) is proud to continue its support of Veterans across the United States as a National Host Sponsor of the 39th Annual National Veterans Wheelchair Games (NVWG). The Company has supported the NVWG since the event’s inception 39 years ago. This year’s NVWG will be held in Louisville, Kentucky, from July 11-16, 2019.

“For 39 years, Invacare has dedicated its time and energy to ensure that Veterans are ready to compete in an empowering week of wheelchair sports competition at the National Veterans Wheelchair Games. The Veterans Administration care providers know the power of sport and recreation in the recovery process, and we are pleased to be able to support them in recreation and competitive sport,” said Matthew E. Monaghan, chairman, president and chief executive officer of Invacare. “The competitive drive and spirit of these Veteran athletes is evident from the moment Invacare associates meet them at the airport, in interactions during events, and as we honor them at the closing ceremonies. They embody the Yes, You Can® spirit of Invacare, and we’re proud to help make this week possible for them.”

Invacare associates start the week on Wednesday, when they meet Veteran athletes arriving at the airport to help ensure the wheelchairs of those flying in for the games are unloaded and reassembled properly. Invacare also offers wheelchair repairs and tune ups throughout the week to help repair or replace anything that may have been bumped out of place during travel, warm up or competition.

Veterans and their clinicians can experience Invacare’s recent innovations such as the new ROVI® A3 Power Wheelchair with Motion Concepts Multi-Position Standing Maxx* and the Invacare® TDX® SP2 Heavy Duty Power Wheelchair – both set to launch in August – during the NVWG’s Expo Day along with Top End sports and recreation equipment. Experts will be on hand to provide fittings for Top End sports and recreation products during Expo Day and throughout the course of the NVWG.
