Press Ganey Acquires the CALNOC Database Registry of Nursing-Sensitive Quality Indicators

Leading Database for Acute and Ambulatory Care Settings to be Combined with NDNQI for Cross-Continuum Improvement

BOSTON--()--Press Ganey today announced its acquisition of the Collaborative Alliance for Nursing Outcomes (CALNOC) database registry, the leading source for nursing-sensitive quality indicators for ambulatory settings. The CALNOC indicators complement Press Ganey’s Nursing Excellence Solution, creating the industry’s most robust set of nursing quality measurement capabilities and data resources across care settings.

“As demand for outpatient care continues to grow, the need to support nurses and nursing leadership in their essential roles for delivering safe, high-quality, patient-centered care has never been more critical,” said Patrick T. Ryan, Executive Chairman, Press Ganey. “This acquisition provides a comprehensive solution for organizations to measure and improve nursing quality across the care continuum.”

Over its 20-year history, CALNOC has established itself as a pioneer in nursing quality measurement and nursing sensitive indicators. In collaboration with the American Academy of Ambulatory Care Nursing (AAACN), CALNOC developed the nation’s first nursing quality indicators database registry in the ambulatory setting. Many of the nation’s leading health care organizations partner with CALNOC to fulfill their strategies of supporting nursing as a critical aspect of the patient journey.

“Since its inception, CALNOC has been deeply committed to advancing the quality of nursing,” said Tony Sung, CEO, CALNOC. “Press Ganey shares this commitment, and as a result of this agreement, health care leaders will have access to a unique set of insights to help them transform patient care and create continuous, sustained improvement.”

Combined with Press Ganey’s National Database of Nursing Quality Indicators® (NDNQI®) and an industry-leading suite of transformational solutions, the expanded offerings will support nurses and nursing leadership with unparalleled capabilities to assess quality and act on opportunities to transform the care experience.

“Nurses are incredibly important as the front line of the patient experience across the continuum of care. This acquisition allows us to measure the unique role that nurses play in clinical quality in the ambulatory and the acute environments of care. Adding the CALNOC registry to our broader suite of nursing solutions will allow us to provide deeper insights across settings as we partner to transform care.”
