Fuzzy Pet Health Expands to New York City, Making World Class Pet Health Care Accessible and Affordable to the City’s Millions of Pet Parents

The San Francisco based startup also announced that it had appointed Dr. Lisa Lippman, DVM lead veterinarian of the New York City operation

SAN FRANCISCO--()--Fuzzy Pet Health, the membership-based pet health company, today announced that it has expanded their in-home care service to New York City and opened a Manhattan office to support their growing customer base. New York City is Fuzzy’s first market beyond their homebase of San Francisco.

“Because of fast-rising vet costs, more than 50% of the approximately 200 million pets in this country aren’t receiving any veterinary care at all, at Fuzzy we’re committed to changing that,” said Zubin Bhettay, Co-Founder and CEO of Fuzzy. “While pet parents across the country are able to access our vets through our telemedicine service, our in-home care service has been limited to San Francisco – until today.”

According to the New York City Economic Development Corporation, one in every three households in the five boroughs has at least one pet. To serve this massive and fast-growing market, Fuzzy has opened an office in Manhattan which houses their New York operations team, headed up by Ash Straughn, and their veterinary team, which is led by Dr. Lisa Lippman DVM.

“I’m incredibly excited to be joining the Fuzzy team,” said Dr. Lisa Lippman DVM, Lead New York Veterinarian at Fuzzy Pet Health. “With Fuzzy, veterinary check-ups feel a lot more like a playdate than a traditional trip to the veterinarian. This is not only more convenient for the pet parent, but it also creates a more relaxed environment to deliver a higher quality medical examination, an environment that over the long term allows us to provide much better healthcare.”

Founded in 2016 by Zubin Bhettay and Eric Palm, Fuzzy’s mission is two-fold: 1) make world-class veterinary care more accessible to all pets, and 2) empower veterinarians to improve their well-being by innovating in what has traditionally been a slow-moving industry. In addition to the company’s in-home service, the Fuzzy Pet Health mobile app, which debuted in 2017, provides members direct access to vets wherever they are and whenever they need it. Members chat with vets in real-time, ask for diagnoses and prescriptions, get recommendations for products and services based on their pets’ lifestyle – all delivered to their homes.

“Fuzzy is changing veterinary care through tech and consumer centricity,” continued Bhettay. “We already care for thousands of pets through in-home vet visits throughout the San Francisco Bay Area and this experience has allowed us to not only optimize the business end of things, but more importantly, perfect our services for the pet parents of New York City. With this process down we aim to be everywhere there are pet parents seeking more accessible and affordable healthcare for their pets.”

In conjunction with the announcement, Fuzzy created the coupon code, 'NYC200', which gives new members $200 off the regular price of a one year of Fuzzy membership. This promotion is only available for new members and is valid until March 31st.
