OROVILLE, Calif.--()--Wildlands is now accepting reservations for habitat mitigation at the Dove Ridge Conservation Bank, an established conservation bank preserve northwest of the City of Oroville. Conservation Bank credits are available for developers to purchase to provide a complete mitigation solution at a fixed fee and no additional costs or obligations.

The Dove Ridge Conservation Bank offers solutions for all types of future development projects, providing mitigation credits for projects in Butte and Tehama counties. Private developers, public infrastructure projects and regional advance mitigation programs benefit from a cost-effective, pre-approved, environmentally-preferable habitat mitigation solution. Dove Ridge offers options to applicants with project impacts to vernal pools and grasslands.

Wildlands experts work with project applicants and their consultants to provide mitigation solutions on time and on budget,” said Brian Monaghan, senior vice president at Wildlands. “The Dove Ridge Bank is an excellent new mitigation tool for developers.”

Wildlands manages the site for the benefit of native species and their habitats. The company specializes in preserving natural lands and provides developers and public agencies with an efficient and environmentally-beneficial method of compensating for impacts of new construction.

Dove Ridge spans 2,400-rolling acres of grassland terrace, surrounding sensitive vernal pools — seasonal bodies of water that provide essential breeding grounds for wetland habitat. The vernal pools contain federally listed plants and small, transparent crustaceans called fairy shrimp. Dove Ridge is home to more than 233 acres of vernal pools and more than 80 acres of riparian creeks and streams. In addition, Dove Ridge protects more than 2,000 acres of native grassland habitat along the Sierra Nevada foothills.

The primary objective of Dove Ridge is to preserve existing habitats and maintain, as well as enhance, the diversity of native wetland and onsite flora and fauna.
