TACOMA, Wash.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Swenson Healthcare, a clinical practice group dedicated to the care of patients in long term care facilities, announced today that Raymond Thompson is joining the management team as Executive Director, effective today.
Ray brings a wealth of experience accumulated over 25 years as an executive, administrator and clinician in long term care. He comes to Swenson Healthcare from Life Care Centers of America, one of the nation’s largest post-acute healthcare systems, where he held senior management positions for the past eleven years. Most recently, Ray served as Senior Executive Director for Life Care Center of Port Orchard and Cottesmore of Life Care. Ray also served as Life Care’s Division Vice President for the Northwest Division, where he was responsible for the overall operation of 29 facilities caring for over 2300 skilled nursing and rehabilitation patients daily. Through his active leadership and standardization of processes, Ray established and maintained a “4-star” average rating from CMS across his division. Ray started his career in healthcare as a Licensed Practical Nurse in the US Army.

Ray received his Graduate Certification in Long Term Healthcare Administration from the Texas State University. In 2011 Ray was honored by the American College of Healthcare Administrators (ACHCA) with their Facility Leadership Award. During his tenure with Life Care, Ray received both the President’s Award and Facility of the Year Award in recognition of his leadership and performance. Ray holds both a Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Education and a Graduate Certification in Long Term Care Administration from Texas State University.
