DALLAS--()--D CEO, the elite regional business publication of D Magazine, today unveiled its fourth annual list of the top most powerful and influential business leaders in North Texas, including Worldwide Express founder and entrepreneur David Kiger. Dallas 500, an exclusive edition of D CEO, features top executives in more than 60 categories and provides an in-depth look at the “leaders who make Dallas-Fort Worth’s economy tick.”

“I’m honored to be recognized for the second year in a row among those who are helping Dallas realize its full potential,” said Kiger. “Dallas provides an immense opportunity for business professionals—from young entrepreneurs to industry-leading executives—and is raising the bar for the rest of the country.”

In 1995, Kiger founded Worldwide Express, a global shipping logistics company for small to midsize businesses. Headquartered in Dallas, the company is one of two primary UPS-authorized resellers in the U.S. and has 40,000 customers. Kiger led the company’s private equity transactions in 2007, 2013 and 2017 and now serves as a board member.

In addition to his role at Worldwide Express, Kiger has stakes in several companies in diverse businesses. His investments span multiple industries, including technology, transportation, lifestyle, entertainment and more. Kiger is majority shareholder and board member of beGlammed.com and is on the board of advisors of TEDx, XPRIZE and the American Film Institute.

Kiger has been a Texan for more than three decades. After graduating from the University of Alabama in 1985 and beginning his career with Baxter Healthcare in Chicago, he moved to Houston. While working for Trammell Crow Company, he developed the idea of what Worldwide Express would become and launched his first entrepreneurial venture by starting the company with just $5,000.

Drawing upon his extensive business experience and successes, Kiger now devotes time to mentoring business professionals and sharing his unique insights with others through his blog.

“I firmly believe any individual with a passion for business and the determination to follow through has every opportunity to be successful here, especially as Dallas continues to expand,” said Kiger. “I’m eager to provide the same support to others that has been graciously provided to me.”
