CRANBURY, N.J.--()--Pharmacy Times Continuing Education™ (PTCE), a leader in continuing education for retail, health-system, managed care and specialty pharmacists, announces the full agenda for the Directions in Oncology Pharmacy meeting. The meeting will take place on Saturday, November 10 at the Crowne Plaza Times Square Manhattan in New York City.

“Pharmacists play an extremely vital role in oncology treatment,” said Jim Palatine, RPh, MBA, president of PTCE. “This highly practical, fast-paced and engaging meeting is designed to provide clinical specialists, health system, infusion and specialty pharmacists with different treatment options and dosing regimens so they can implement methods to help improve patient care. In addition, the knowledge gained at this meeting will help pharmacists counsel their patients on managing potential adverse events associated with novel agents in order to optimize clinical outcomes.”

Directions in Oncology Pharmacy is a one-day interactive conference that will consist of six accredited continuing education sessions. The agenda is filled with sessions that focus on treatment options for the care of patients with various solid tumors, such as pancreatic cancer, and pharmacists’ roles in managing immune-related adverse events associated with immuno-oncology. This educational meeting is positioned to provide members of the oncology care team with practical education on topics in oncology treatment such as: effective management therapies to improve outcomes in patients with chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting and prostate cancer, cancer immunotherapy in recurrent or metastatic head and neck cancer and more. Additionally, attendees will learn how to coordinate care through inpatient, ambulatory and community settings.
