SALT LAKE CITY--(BUSINESS WIRE)--On October 11, Business Q Magazine awarded FluentWorlds visionary and founder, Dr. Linda Bradford, the #6 spot on its 50 start-ups to watch list. Dr. Bradford, along with husband David and key team members, have produced what is arguably the most advanced language learning app on the market. The FluentWorlds app has been described as the world’s most sophisticated and versatile 3D/VR tool for immersive language learning available today.
On October 12, FluentWorlds’ CEO, David Bradford, was awarded the Emeriti Distinguished Service Award by the BYU Alumni Association. The association recognized Bradford for his significant contributions to FluentWorlds’ groundbreaking work in the language training world, his induction into the UVBusiness and the UTC Technology Halls of Fame, as well as his lifetime of achievements in the tech industry.
“We are excited and honored that FluentWorlds is receiving recognition from respected organizations such as Business Q Magazine, the BYU Alumni Association and others,” said Dr. Linda Bradford, founder of FluentWorlds. “Our mission is to lift the world through technology-powered education. We are endeavoring to fulfill that mission by offering the most advanced language apps available, along with new learning opportunities that wouldn’t be available otherwise. We hope to dramatically improve people’s lives all over the world through these efforts.”
Building on the success of the first FluentWorlds app, the company’s new app, Perfect Accent, was just approved by Apple and will be released for sale shortly. This new app gives users the opportunity of practicing pronunciation and refining their accent through cutting-edge voice recognition technology and AI. These practical tools will aid in advancing people’s career success and improving their social interactions. It provides real-time feedback to accelerate their English learning journey.
“We believe the app will be a catalyst to economic growth by giving professionals the tools to be successful in international business,” said David Bradford. “Perfect Accent also has the potential to revolutionize language training in corporate settings as a tool for HR departments.”
Using artificial intelligence, the app helps users improve their accent by analyzing and scoring their pronunciation on a scale of 1 to 100 while giving each individual their unique graphical VoicePrint. Further, Perfect Accent provides Accent Reduction Tips customized to the user’s native language. Additionally, the App features English for Specific Purposes with 80 job or vocational categories challenging users with the 200 to 800 most essential sentences in each category.
“FluentWorlds with Perfect Accent is the perfect solution to immersive language learning. Dr. Linda Bradford and her product team at FluentWorlds have created something that enables the world to learn languages in an unprecedented way,” said Jeff Adams, CEO of Cobalt Systems and a member of the FluentWorlds Advisory Board. Adams is also the father of the Amazon Echo and a world leader in voice recognition technology.
