CureDuchenne Hosts “Futures” Conference in Boston, November 3-4

NEWPORT BEACH, Calif.--()--Caregivers of Duchenne muscular dystrophy and patients suffering from the rare disease on the east coast will have an opportunity to learn about the best practices of care for Duchenne at a conference titled “Futures” hosted by nonprofit CureDuchenne. CureDuchenne Futures will be held on November 3rd and 4th, 2018 at the Sheraton Needham, located at 100 Cabot St. in Needham, MA. The conference is free for all Duchenne patients, families and caregivers. Additionally, travel assistance may be available for eligible families. Not only will it cover the latest news in gene therapy and editing, clinical trials and steroid use, but it will also offer insightful topics that are important to staying mentally healthy and focused on living your best life for Duchenne patients and caregivers,” said Dr. Brenda Wong, MD, UMass Memorial.

One of the highlights of Futures will be its “Expert Meet-ups” in which caregivers and patients will have an opportunity to sit down in face-to-face meetings with leading scientists, clinicians and other experts. What’s more, adults living with Duchenne will talk about how they navigate Duchenne while staying positive.

CureDuchenne Futures will also feature a poster exhibit, panel discussions on nutrition, navigating insurance, steroid use and preserving mobility.

Childcare is available on-site and fun activities will be available for children of all ages, including arts and crafts, a gaming lounge, a photo booth, and more.
