Morgan Stanley Launches Enhanced Financial Wellness Program for Employees of Corporate Clients

Includes Financial Wellness score, proprietary thought leadership and personalized financial solutions

NEW YORK--()--Morgan Stanley Wealth Management today announced the launch of an enhanced Financial Wellness Program for employees of mid-to-large size corporations. Morgan Stanley Financial Wellness is an inclusive offering that addresses a range of needs designed to help reduce financial stress and empower employees to reach their financial goals. The program includes a new digital portal, a robust catalog of financial education materials, a financial wellness assessment and the option to collaborate with either a Morgan Stanley Financial Advisor or through Morgan Stanley Access Investing, the Firm’s online investing platform.

“Financial stress among employees is a key contributor to reduced productivity, lower effectiveness and higher attrition,” said Brian McDonald, Head of Corporate Solutions. “We are pleased to launch our Morgan Stanley Financial Wellness Program to provide our corporate clients and their employees with critical financial education and assessment tools that can help to mitigate these factors and provide employees with support to enhance their financial lives.”

Studies have shown that 53% of employees are stressed about their finances, 54% of all employees plan to postpone retirement and 48% of employees are distracted by their finances at work.1

The benefits of the Morgan Stanley Financial Wellness Program include:

  • Financial Education – through an online portal, employees and their families can measure and improve their financial well-being while being matched with educational materials that can help address their needs. The portal includes a 12-question financial assessment and score to determine financial fitness, 80+ articles covering topics around personal finances, including retirement, investing, college planning, estate planning and taxes, pre-recorded webinars and multiple calculators they can walk through at their own pace. Also provided are detailed insights on employee engagement – how they feel about their finances and how much they know about their company’s retirement plan offerings.
  • Financial Advice – offered through either digital channels or one-on-one interactive discussions with a Morgan Stanley Financial Advisor who will create a holistic portrait of an employee’s financial life and customize a plan to help them pursue their goals.
  • Financial Solutions – If employees choose to, they can access Morgan Stanley’s wide breadth of products and solutions that may help them meet their short- and long-term financial goals, including investment management, cash management and lending products and services, brokerage accounts, insurance, philanthropy management services and trust and estate planning strategies. Tax planning and preparation services are available through a third-party vendor.

“We have the privilege to advise on and deliver employee benefit programs on behalf of thousands of corporate clients, and are now pleased to fulfill a request that we hear from these clients more and more: to provide education, advice and solutions in the way each and every employee prefers,” said Edward O’Connor, Head of Morgan Stanley Financial Wellness and Corporate Retirement.
