HID Global’s Lumidigm® Multispectral Fingerprint Sensor for Enterprise Access Named New Product of the Year

AUSTIN, Texas--()--HID Global®, a worldwide leader in trusted identity solutions, today announced that Security Products magazine has named the company’s Lumidigm® V400-BX Series multispectral imaging fingerprint sensor its New Product of the Year in the Access Control–Biometrics category. The award program honors manufacturers whose products are particularly noteworthy in their ability to improve user authentication security.

The HID Lumidigm V400-BX sensor combines patented multispectral fingerprint technology with on-device encryption as well as tamper detection and response capabilities, to deliver strong end-point security with proven biometric authentication. It is ideal for user enrollment and verification in enterprise access control applications, especially in financial and other regulated industries, where secure access of approved individuals is critical for organizational trust and execution.

“This award recognizes key Lumidigm V400-BX sensor capabilities, with superior biometric performance and the first ISO/IEC 30107-3 certified fingerprint sensor to reject faked or stolen fingerprints. The sensor’s robust, end-to-end encryption and anti-tamper technology processes billions of transactions annually to prevent misuse by fraudsters, while correctly authenticating legitimate users,” said Michael Chaudoin, Vice President of Product Management and Marketing, Extended Access Technologies business unit with HID Global. “We are proud to receive this affirmation of our fingerprint sensor offering and validation of the crucial role biometrics plays in securing enterprise networks and other logical access applications.”

HID Lumidigm V400-BX sensors work for the broadest range of people with normal, wet, dry or damaged fingers, across the widest range of conditions. Its liveness detection capabilities are critical for combatting threats from imposters using fake fingerprints. Its top-ranked Minutiae Interoperability Exchange (MINEX) III template generator and matcher optimizes accuracy and interoperability, and FBI-certified Wavelet Scalar Quantization (WSQ) image compression ensures fast and accurate finger image transfers. Minimal maintenance is required for all V-Series sensors even in unattended and high-throughput applications, reducing total cost of ownership.
