BETHESDA, Md.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Four mavericks will address the 2018 National Electrical Contractors Association (NECA) Convention & Trade Show, Sept. 29-Oct. 2 at the Pennsylvania Convention Center.
On Sunday, Sept. 30 from 10:15 a.m. – 11:30 a.m., Zipline founder/robotics entrepreneur Keller Rinaudo, whose drones deliver life-saving medical supplies to remote corners of the world, opens the convention.
On Monday, Oct. 1 from 10:15 a.m. – 11:30 a.m., two leading global cybersecurity experts address the general session—former FBI Special Agent Christopher Tarbell, who infiltrated and defeated the dark web drug trafficking site, Silk Road and his former adversary, Hector Monsegur (a.k.a. Sabu).
Former Philadelphia Eagle and “NFL Magic Man” Jon Dorenbos closes the convention on Tuesday, Oct. 2 from 1:15 p.m. – 2:30 p.m., sharing his magic after an aortic aneurysm ended his football career.
On Sunday Sept. 30 from 11:30 a.m. – 12:15 p.m., NECA runs its first Town Hall meeting to help battle the industry’s critical skilled workforce crisis affecting all construction trades. Speakers include NECA President David Long, IBEW President Lonnie Stephenson and NECA CEO John Grau.

The industry is encouraging more women to become apprentices, supported by the Women in NECA Roundtable meeting on Monday, Oct. 1 from 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.
The Town Hall runs during NECA’s Apprentice Appreciation Day, sponsored by the NECA Penn-Del-Jersey Chapter with the Philadelphia region’s premier Local Joint Apprentice and Training Committees (JATC).
The free trade show features approximately 300 exhibitors including a new Lighting and Controls theater and a TECHTOPIA Pavilion featuring the latest disruptive technology.
