Turbonomic Achieves AWS Migration Competency Status

Workload Automation Leader Accelerates Migration to Amazon Web Services While Enabling Continuous Optimization

BOSTON--()--Turbonomic, the leader in workload automation for hybrid cloud, today announced that it has achieved Amazon Web Services (AWS) Migration Competency status. Turbonomic is showcasing its solution at the upcoming AWS Summit in Atlanta on September 13, 2018.

Achieving AWS Migration Competency status differentiates Turbonomic as an AWS Partner Network (APN) company that provides AWS customers with discovery, planning, and ongoing optimization of their AWS instances. The software delivers an accurate, real-time view of on-premises workload consumption with the resulting recommendations of instance types. Turbonomic provides “what if” modeling capabilities, coupled with the ability for customers to optimize their on-premises workloads before moving them to AWS.

Once running on AWS, Turbonomic maintains a real-time understanding of resource consumption from the application to the underlying infrastructure. Workloads are self-managing, anywhere, in real-time (“SMART”), ensuring they always get exactly the right resources they need to assure performance while minimizing cost and maintaining compliance with policies. Additionally, Turbonomic is capable of doing this in the context of Amazon Reserved Instances (Amazon RI). Continuously automating the consumption of Amazon RIs helps customers maximize the elasticity of their AWS environment at the lowest possible cost.

Continuous optimization includes the intelligent, automatic adoption of new AWS instance types and pricing offers as they become available. Turbonomic enables customers, like MetroStar Systems, to responsibly unlock the elasticity of AWS by ensuring workloads only use what they need at all times – never any more or less, and always while taking compliance with policies into consideration. For example, by automating Turbonomic’s AWS storage-tier optimization recommendations, MetroStar Systems rapidly saw a 25 percent reduction in monthly spend, and continues to see improvements – saving even more with cloud instance sizing.

“We’re excited to help customers leverage the elasticity, breadth of services, and pace of innovation that AWS provides. Turbonomic workload automation delivers customers confidence when accelerating their migration to AWS by ensuring that workloads continuously get the exact resources they need to assure performance at the lowest cost while complying with business policies – unleashing the full potential of their AWS environment,” said Jennifer Heard, Senior Vice President, Cloud Partnerships at Turbonomic.
