Alabama Virtual Academy at Eufaula City Schools Welcomes Students for the 2018-19 School Year on August 6

EUFAULA, Ala.--()--Students and teachers at Alabama Virtual Academy at Eufaula City Schools (ALVA-ECS), will start the 2018-2019 school year on August 6. A full-time, online public school authorized by the Alabama State Department of Education and the Eufaula City Schools, ALVA-ECS is tuition-free and open to students in grades K-12 throughout Alabama.

Combining innovative technology with a rigorous curriculum led by state-certified teachers, ALVA-ECS provides each student with a personalized learning experience. Students take a full course load across the core subjects of math, science, language arts and history, as well as electives, world languages and AP® courses at the high school level.

Students enroll in online school for a variety of reasons, including advanced learning, a bullying-free environment, and the ability to balance their education with extracurricular pursuits or medical needs.

"At ALVA-ECS, we recognize that each student is different, and our online platform allows our students to learn in ways that meet their needs," says Head of School Kayleen Marble. "We are proud to provide Alabama families with a public education option that prepares students for the future."

ALVA-ECS’s dedicated staff facilitate lessons during live, interactive online classes. In addition, the dedicated teachers offer one-on-one instruction, online chat sessions and family phone calls to build close partnerships with parents and students to support academic success. The online platform enables students to enjoy a safe learning environment, and connect with classmates and teachers from across the state.

Throughout the year, ALVA-ECS builds a sense of community through in-person field trips, community service opportunities and social outings, and celebrates graduating seniors with an in-person commencement ceremony in the spring. Virtual clubs and student organizations also allow students to further explore their interests together in the online setting.

ALVA-ECS is accepting enrollment for the 2018-19 school year. Families are encouraged to attend an online or in-person information session hosted by the school.
